You become more optimistic and hopeful. When you hear stories of depression patients who got well after only a couple of weeks or months of treatment, you begin to hope that the same thing will happen to you. You begin to look at things positively and that's a good sign for your recovery.

Your loved ones can also turn to such groups for support. Sometimes, families of depressed persons also feel the stress. It is not easy for these families to take care of their depressed family member so they also need someone to help them.

You can find a support group by asking your doctor or mental health provider for their suggestions. You can also ask friends and relatives for recommendation.
